Ben Hale wins the prestigious ETH Medal for his master thesis at the Snijder lab! Congrats to Ben and his supervisor Yannik.

Our 2019 Lab Retreat brought us to the heart of Barcelona! We had a few wonderful days mixing intense scientific discussion with the relaxing sights, sea, food, and autumn sun of Barcalona.
What a great week. Yannik presented his work at the SynthIms conference, while Berend presented at the University Hospital Basel pathology seminar series, at the Ultra-DD Annual Conference 2019, at the Roche Turmgespräch held jointly with the ETH Zurich, and at the SciLifeLabs Mini Symposium on imaging in cancer in Stockholm.

We organized the departmental Happy Hour on the sunny roof terrace of our institute, together with the Christen and Claassen labs of the IMSB.
For our 2018 lab retreat we spent a few days in Valetta, capital of Malta. Intense scientific discussions mixed with great food, people, and the amazing history of Malta made for an awesome retreat!
We’re excited for the PHRT iDoc support for Thijs Wildschut! Thijs will be a joint PhD student together with the labs of Bernd Wollscheid and Alex Theocharides, working on integrating pharmacoscopy and proteomics for myeloproliferative neoplasms.
We’re super excited we got an ERC Starting Grant to further study patient drug response variability in cancer, using pharmacoscopy and integrative OMICs.
